Argument of Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo
Christiane F., is a 14-year-old teenager who lives with her mother, since her parents are divorced. She is attracted to a boy and ends up being a mirror of him, even his darker side. The boy takes drugs and prostitutes himself to buy more heroin. In this way Christiane F., will sink into drugs and end up being a caricature of the beautiful girl she was. A harsh portrait of a young girl who gets hooked on heroin to the point of prostituting herself to get more.
Opinion about Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo
Great movie. I saw it very recently and it has left me chilled. You can’t even tell it’s been over 30 years since it was released. Although some aspects are not understood, overall it is a very believable and tough film. I must admit that it is more angsty than erotic, because it shows the drug from the rawest point of view. However, it also has very morbid scenes, even though it doesn’t show anything explicit. You can tell that the film is not shot thinking of warming up, even though sometimes it succeeds.

Christiane F. is a normal girl in Berlin in 1975. However, the world around her is gray and her parents don’t have enough time to spend with her, because they work a lot and are divorced. Little by little she will be dragged into the nightlife, where drugs and lack of control were the norm in those days. Best of all, the scenes are totally realistic. The book on which it is based, even more crude, is faithfully transferred, although only 30% of the content, even the film seems soft if we compare it with the book, since it is impossible to capture everything that is written in so many pages. The atmosphere is very well achieved. Another point in favor is the soundtrack, where David Bowie (the singer of the concert) collaborates actively.
Conclusions
I think this film should be seen in all schools. Although it must be recognized that it is very raw and realistic, so much so that it makes you sick to your stomach. Precisely because it is so hard, reaching unbearable extremes. Anyone who thinks of “trying it” would lose the desire to try it. Nowadays many people still think “I’m in control”, but it’s not like that. When the urge to take more invades you, with such a strong addiction, you have to do it. Even chain smokers don’t know that feeling. I don’t know that feeling, but as if I knew it after watching Christiane F.
